Yes. Damn. It has been a long time.
But I'm back!
Back in Finland, back from almost 11 months of Japan.
Wow.

I still haven't finished closing my blog (ricefielddiaries.blogspot.com) because I haven't had time since December. Too much work, too much to plan for going back. It wasn't easy to leave, but I had started to miss my home quite badly by then, so I was ready to go and to look back fondly on all the great experiences I was allowed to have in Takaoka, Toyama-prefecture, Japan.

Now it's onwards with many new projects and still so much left over from Japan to finish... but I hope I will be able to catch up with it all at some point.

I will also finally return to submitting my works, there even still should be stuff left from even before I went to Japan, but apart from that I will of course put up all the works that came into being while I was there, on the other end of the world.

I hope somebody's still with me?
You haven't all completely forgotten me? ;)
Well, my own fault I guess.... :P

Anyways, I'm back!

Hiya! I'm not part of DA (had to make an account just to do this..)I'm just some random person surfing the net ^.^ and I happily stumbled onto your work (kudos by the way on... well everything on here!=} ). I love your Gaara costume, and I was wondering if you made those brass decorative pieces on the cuffs and collar or if you got them somewhere (my guess is the former but just to be safe...) You see, I want to make a costume too and to have small details like those would be fantastically awesome!!! (not a fan of the awkward-looking already-made cosplay costumes...)

Please help?

oh yeah... sorry about the super long message... ^_^' If you want you can email me instead....?

no problem, i'm a fan of comments, like them more than fav's so you can write them as long as you want ;)
first: thank you!! :bows:
second, yes, I made the brass pieces myself. i like imagining characters for myself, as real people. how they would use their clothes, how they would, as leader of a country, be decorated... you know what i mean, you wrote it yourself :)
they're metal, but then things like that shouldn't be too hard to make from those kind of model clays that dry or can be burned to be solid.
yeah... no prefab costumes, please.. that's not really cosplay in my opinion, that's like children going to a birthday party, right ?! ^^'
hope i could help!

Yay! That's great because I tend to babble... a lot >.<...

Heh yeah, I thought so... And really, that's the best way to go: getting into your character's head, thinking of them as an actual person, imagining what they would wear daily... all that jazz.
Hey, that is a fantastic idea! O.O I think I actually have some clay lying around somewhere... Thanks! ^.^

Oh yeah totally! They annoy me to no end. They're why I'd rather make my own costume... it's more authentic (and comfortable) that way
